1How a practical flows
  1. Set up the examination and its key.

Add the practical, then drop the key in as PDF, Word, a photo, a CSV, or pasted text. Claude turns it into a numbered item list you can edit, with accepted alternates and point values per tag.

  2. Drop in the answer sheets.

Up to 30 at a time, scanned PDFs, photos, or Word files. Claude transcribes each sheet verbatim and pulls the student name and ID. Typed answers can also come in as a CSV with no AI step at all.

  3. Score the batch.

Exact and near matches are settled instantly in the browser. Only the judgment calls, spelling variants, eponyms, laterality, and vague answers, go to Claude, with a one line reason for each.

  4. Adjust, then export.

Change any verdict, credit or drop a bad tag for the whole cohort in one click, override a total, then export the gradebook as CSV for the LMS.

Claude transcribes exactly what the student wrote, misspellings and all, so the scoring step judges the student's own words. Nothing is corrected silently.
    3Already have typed answers?
A CSV skips the AI reading step entirely and lands instantly.

First columns Name and ID, then one column per item number

Expected shape. Header row: Name, ID, 1, 2, 3, ... One row per student. Column headers that are plain numbers are read as item numbers, so an export from a quiz platform usually works as is.
    1Cohort gradebook
Every cell is live. Type in the Final column to override a total; clear it to hand the number back to the scoring.

Percent of the cohort correct on each tag. Anything under 40 percent is flagged: a damaged tag, an ambiguous pin, or a genuinely hard structure.
